Compliance Officer / Legal Counsel (Hong Kong)

About the Role

Drusus covers HKEX from its first day. The Hong Kong commercial activity of the firm, both in product and in subscriber relationships, will grow materially in the coming year. This role exists because the regulatory and legal posture of a firm covering Hong Kong markets and serving Hong Kong subscribers cannot be managed credibly from London alone.

Responsibilities

• Own the firm's regulatory posture in Hong Kong, with particular attention to the SFC perimeter and any forthcoming regulation that bears on the platform.
• Maintain the firm's legal documentation for the Hong Kong market, in collaboration with the London legal counsel and external Hong Kong counsel.
• Advise the firm on the regulatory implications of product features that touch the Hong Kong market.
• Lead the contracting work for Hong Kong subscribers, vendors, and partners.
• Support the firm's commercial growth in the Hong Kong market with credible regulatory representation.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualified solicitor in Hong Kong or compliance professional with five or more years of relevant financial services experience.
• Substantial familiarity with the SFC regulatory framework and the regulatory analysis appropriate to a financial analytics product.
• Cantonese and English proficiency; written and oral fluency in both.
• Capability to operate with substantial autonomy in the Hong Kong office.

Helpful but Not Required

• SFC Type 4 (Advising on Securities) Licensed Representative status.
• Mandarin proficiency.
• Prior fintech or virtual-asset experience in the Hong Kong context.
