Brand Identity Workshop: Burgundy, Ivory, Classical Type

The visual identity that now defines Gravenos and Drusus was settled in a focused workshop conducted in June. The decisions taken there have proved durable: a palette of burgundy, deep burgundy, steel silver, ivory, and cream; a typographic system pairing Playfair Display for headings, Inter for body text, and IBM Plex Mono for financial data.

The intention was to produce an identity that would read as the visual equivalent of a long-form magazine, not a software product. The reference points were drawn from Kinfolk, Monocle, Tatler Asia, and FT Weekend, in deliberate contrast to the prevailing aesthetic of consumer fintech, which tends towards neon gradients and a register of urgency wholly inappropriate to considered analysis.
